The Director,
Global Knowledge Management Systems, will create and execute a framework and
process for Knowledge Management within Global Medical Affairs at Takeda. They
will oversee the creation, refinement and integration of all IT systems,
portals and databases within Global Medical Affairs to support Takeda's
business objectives. This person will lead the alignment and integration of IT
systems and related content to support key stakeholders within the Takeda
global organization including GMA, regional MA organizations and other
functions such as IO, TGRD, BD, SPPD and other functions while ensuring
scalability and added value to stakeholders. They will oversee a standardized
IT platform to support global medical strategic planning and lead the creation,
training verification and archiving of GMA guidelines and SOPs to ensure GMA
compliance requirements.
Accountabilities
- Develop a vision and strategy to establish a
Knowledge Management function for Global Medical Affairs at Takeda.
- Lead the establishment of an IT enabled framework
to integrate cross functional stakeholder needs and knowledge contributions,
such as those of regional medical affairs organizations, business intelligence,
regulatory affairs, TGRD, BD, while ensuring appropriate alignment to support
Takeda business objectives.
- Oversee the creation, while ensuring scalability of
a technology platform to support greater accessibility and adaptability of the
IntelligenCenter to meet the broader and changing needs of the IntelligenCenter
and the overall Takeda organization.
- Lead the creation, training verification and
archiving of GMA related guidelines, SOPs and training matrixes to ensure GMA's
and Takeda's compliance and training requirements are enforced.
- Oversee the integration of GMA IT platforms and
information with existing business critical processes and platforms including
the medical information, publications, investigator sponsored research and
relevant regulatory systems.
- Oversee design of application requirements and
development of websites supporting global information sharing such as the GMA
sharepoint site, Global Product Registration database and others to establish
processes and business rules for information management and integration with
regional and affiliate web sites as appropriate.
- Design and lead the integration of regional
strategic planning IT tools to interface with the Global Strategic Planning
function within GMA.
- Lead the identification, prioritization and
resource allocation of opportunities for development of new applications to
better support GMA and to integration of global initiatives
- Ensure resources and programs are in place to
ensure adequate training of all system users.
Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:
- BS degree
- 5 or more years of Pharmaceutical industry work
experience including a thorough understanding of the industry and Global
Medical Affairs.
- 10 or more years of experience in business
management. Experience should include leading the creation and implementation
of global IT initiatives, related budget development, operations management and
resource planning.
- Knowledge of and experience with Global medical
affairs processes and tools.
- Substantial experience in matrix management.
- Experience in working within and leading
cross-functional teams.
- Ability to articulate and negotiate budget and
resource issues with Department's Senior Leadership Team and with Leaders from
other key Takeda departments.
Strongly
Desired:
- Advanced degree in Health Sciences or IT sciences
- MBA
- Experience in development and operationalization of
knowledge management frameworks
- Previous experience of working in an organization
with global priorities and responsibilities
- Moderate understanding of Asian, European and South
American cultures, with experience of non-US business approaches and
management.
Travel Requirements
Moderate
levels of domestic and international travel will be required to attend key
internal and relevant professional meetings.
